Hotel Galena Policies

Room/Suite Rates
Posted rates do not include a 6.0% state tax, 5% county tax (total 11%). Rates are for one to two guests per room. Suite 10 and Suite 8 can accommodate up to 4 guests at an additional cost of $30 per person, per night. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate.

Check-in/Check-out Times
Standard check-in is between 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.. We are happy to accommodate guests after 7:00 p.m. as long as arrangements are made with our staff for a late check-in. Standard check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

Children
Children of all ages who are supervised and accompanied by an adult at all times are welcome in rooms 1-4 and suite 5.

Pets
Hotel Galena and Riverboat Suites are happy to be pet friendly properties. Up to two pets are welcome in four of our guest rooms/suites (1, 4, 5, and 7) when prior arrangements are made. The fee for pet access is $35/night per pet.

For the comfort and safety of our guests, we do not allow pets within the breakfast room of the house (excluding service animals).

Cancellation Policy (without Room Cancellation Insurance)
Single Room Reservation – A room canceled more than 14 days of a guest’s scheduled arrival will receive a complete refund. If a room is canceled with less than 14 days notice, the full price of the room will be charged to the guest’s credit card. However, with the purchase of cancellation insurance (at a rate of $25/nt), a guest would be allowed to cancel up to 48 hours in advance and get a full refund less the cost of the cancellation insurance.

2 Room Reservation – Any room canceled more than 14 days of a guest’s scheduled arrival will receive a complete refund. If any room is canceled with less than 14 days notice, the full price of the room will be charged to the guest’s credit card. However, with the purchase of cancellation insurance (at a rate of $25/nt), a guest would be allowed to cancel any room up to 48 hours in advance and get a full refund, less the cost of the cancellation insurance.

3-10 Room Reservation – Any room canceled more than 45 days of a guest’s scheduled arrival will receive a complete refund. If any room is canceled with less than 45 days notice, the full price of that room will be charged to a guest’s credit card. However, with the purchase of cancellation insurance (at a rate of $25/nt), a guest would be allowed to cancel up to 14 days in advance and get a full refund less the cost of the cancellation insurance.

Room Tariffs
All rooms are subject to a 6% state and 5% county tax and $2.10 per night mandatory MWINNS marketing fee and tax.

Parking
We provide unpaved private off-street parking for five of our guest rooms on the west side of the Riverboat Suites (this would be to the right of the building as you face it from the street). The entrance to our driveway is off Highway 20. Rooms that receive complimentary parking are as follows: Suite 5, Suite 6, Room 7, Suite 8, and Suite 10.

Additional parking is available for the five remaining guest rooms across the street in the public parking lot and on the neighboring streets.

Quiet Hours
For the enjoyment of all guests, we hold quiet hours between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.. This policy does not restrict the use of televisions, stereos, etc. during these hours but does require that guests keep the volume at a level that other guests will not be disturbed.

Damage to Property
Guests are responsible for all damage to property that is deemed outside of normal wear and use. While it is understood that occasional accidents do happen, it is the responsibility of our guests to use items in a manner that is consistent with proper use and handling of such items.

Room Deposit
In order to reserve a room, we require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The balance will be charged upon or after your departure.

Forms of Payment
We accept checks (with photo identification), Mastercard, Visa, Discover and cash. We are unable to accept American Express.

Diversity
We welcome visitors of all race, creed, color, age, gender, religions, ethnic heritage and sexual orientation.

Room Reservation Age Requirement
State law requires that any guest reserving a room must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Room Capacity
Each room is allowed two guests at the standard room rate. Up to two additional guests can be added at a rate of $30 per guest, per night in Suite 10 and Suite 8.

Outside Visitors
With the staff’s permission, up to two outside visitors are welcome to join guests on the property between the hours of 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Appropriate behavior is required and visitors must be accompanied by their hosts at all times.

Variable Rates
Like most lodging properties, we adjust our rates daily to reflect the demand for rooms. Peak rates are generally during the summer, holidays and special event weekends.

Food Allergies/Dietary Restrictions
We have worked diligently to develop a set of menus that can accommodate guests with most food allergies and/or dietary restrictions. Please inquire with us about what accommodations we can make. We always attempt to meet reasonable requests.

Guests with Mobility Concerns
The Hotel Galena & Riverboat Suites are historic properties that do not have elevators. Only Suite 6 and Room 7 are located on the first floor. All of our other guest rooms/suites are on the second and third floors of the property, which require the ability to climb stairs. These conditions may make the property inaccessible to some guests with moderate to severe mobility issues. We apologize if this creates a limitation for any prospective guest.

Unusual Requests
We constantly strive to meet our guest’s needs. If there’s something you need or want that we don’t offer, please let us know. We will always attempt to meet any reasonable request.

Smoking/Vaping
For the health, comfort and safety of our staff and guests, there is no smoking of any kind (marijuana included) within the building. Guests who want to smoke are free to do so in designated smoking areas outside (marijuana is not included). If a guest violates this policy, we will charge a $250 smoking fee to their bill.

Incense/Candle Burning
We do not allow the burning of incense or candles on the property as this presents an imminent fire risk.

Emergency Systems
The property is protected by smoke detectors and in-room carbon monoxide detectors. We also have fire extinguishers visibly accessible throughout the property.

Privacy
The physical, personal and financial privacy of our guests is taken very seriously. We do not share any personal information or mailing lists with any outside party or business entity not connected to The Galena Hotel or Riverboat Suites. In addition, we have locks on all guest doors.

Cleanliness
We thoroughly clean each room after each visitor. The bathroom is sanitized and we carefully wash all sheets, robes and towels. All duvets, comforters and blankets are washed regularly.

Excessive Cleaning Fee
Any room that requires excessive cleaning upon guest departure is subject to a $250+ excessive cleaning fee. Our expectation is that guests will treat the property in a manner that is consistent with normal use and the historical stature of the property.
